What to Look for in a Runner’s iPhone 4 Case

Are you a runner with a new iPhone 4? Are you in search of the right iPhone case so you can safely take your phone with you while you are running? The best type of phone case for runners and other athletes is the armband style case. Here are some important features you need to look for if you want your first runner’s iPhone case to be the right case.

Comfortable Fit

Of course, comfort is paramount in just about anything you buy. You want to look for an armband case that is not bulky so you will need one made of a light weight, stretch material. The stretch and weight of the fabric is the first feature you need to evaluate.

Snug Fit

Look for an iPhone 4 armband phone case that gives you just enough snuggness for a secure fit without unnecessary constriction. This is another area where the stretch of the fabric is important. In evaluating this, try stretching the armband both length-wise and width-wise. Fabric that stretches both ways should hold its flexibility longer without losing its elasticity.

Moisture-Wicking

For the most comfortable run, your clothes should be moisture-wicking. Why not expect the same in your armband iPhone case? Be sure the fabric used is not only moisture-wicking but ‘breathable’, too. Nothing is more uncomfortable than unnecessary sweat.

Water Resistant

As a runner, you know every day isn’t sunshine. Look for an armband phone case that is water resistant so you can protect your iPhone from the rain. You will also want a case that offers a protective screen to cover your phone.

Easy On/Off

Unless you want your running buddy to help you put on your armband phone case every day, you need to evaluate how easily you can put it on and take it off. Basically you have two choices for closures- a Velcro type closure or a buckle clip system. Velcro is probably the simplest and most effective closure system.

Safety and Hygiene

For the ultimate in runner’s safety, every piece of your runner’s gear should have a reflective safety stripe. Look for that in your runner’s iPhone case. You will also want a case that is made of anti-bacterial fabric that can be hand-washed.
